Sleep Disorders & Chronobiology

This session investigates the neurological foundations of sleep architecture, circadian rhythms, and their profound impact on systemic brain health. Topics include sleep apnea neuro-mechanisms, narcolepsy immunology, chronic insomnia, and REM sleep behavior disorder as a neurodegenerative precursor. Clinical somnologists at Stroke 2027 will discuss the bi-directional relationship between sleep disruption and neuro-inflammation, Alzheimer’s progression, and stroke risk. Participants will learn updated diagnostic criteria and innovative pharmacological and behavioral therapies, optimizing their ability to protect cognitive health.
